At this point, a man runs into the parking lot, carrying his unconscious wife, calling for help. Hilde walks up to the soldier and tells him to give her the camera tapes Nick is looking for, then hides it in her cleavage, adding that now they need evidence to save the survivors. The mechanic enters the underground parking lot, where he stumbles upon Hilde and one of her soldiers, but quickly hides behind one of the police cars. Later, Nick Ramos goes to the Los Perdidos Police Station to find the video tapes. The simple solution, for my tournament bracket idea at least, would be to take what I have, get rid of one person randomly, and roll with it, but that would mean ignoring the True Eye cult and bunching the Hall family together in favor of such classics as "Sadistic Claus" and "Grim Gobbler", and I'm not entirely satisfied with that. For the first time, Nick can spot Hilde standing alongside General Hemlock, who is holding a press conference to launch a city bombing to eliminate zombies and save the survivors. Even though they're basically regular survivors that happen to always be hostile, should they be counted as psychopaths? Separately, should the Dead Rising 4 maniacs even be included here? "Psychopath" has always been a term used to describe the game's bosses, so even if they're not described as psychopaths, should they still be included? If you want to take it a step even further, there are psychopaths in the lesser-known games as well as the movies, but for my sanity, I'm fine with setting them aside.ĭeciding where to draw the line in the sand for each question gives us differents results every time. Should they be included in these counts? Separately, there are a few characters in Dead Rising 3 that are fought even though they clearly aren't at the level of other psychopaths, including Kent DeMare, Big D, and Phil (think Burt from DR1 if you had to kill him). In a proper tournament bracket, should they be split up or kept together as one? What about the Hunters, who are also interchangeable but are not fought together like the other examples? Separately, what about the psychopath groups, in which none of them are individualized (besides perhaps the leader)? This includes the True Eye cult, the military, the looters, DR2's mercenaries, the Kings of Chaos biker gang, Case West's Phenotrans employees, and more. There are some psychopaths that appear as groups, including the twins, the convicts, and the Hall family, and they're all basically interchangeable with each other besides their voices and appearances. You may have noticed some problems with it, starting with those asterisks.

However, there are quite a few caveats with that. In total, this makes 65, which is just too much for the tournament bracket I had in mind. This is a list of every individual psychopath in the games.

Here's my initial count:ĭead Rising 2: Off the Record (excluding overlap with DR2) Unfortunately, my first counts shoot over that. A simple tournament bracket relies on there being a number of participants equal to a power of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.), so that's the ideal. For fun, I wanted to try creating a tournament bracket for the series' psychopaths (basically: every non-zombie besides Calder).
